Looking at the work of Jeroen Cremers it’s easy to see the influence of his Catholic
upbringing: themes like original sin , penance, final judgement and afterlife all made
a large impact on the artist as a child. This can be clearly seen in his dramtic images
which adress fear, violance and transience.


Cremers states that his style, the use of strong contrasts with little or no colour, is influ-
enced by his love for comics and street art. Combining text and photographic images
within his drawings, the artist creates collage images. The text he uses are derived
from advertising slogans and graffiti he finds in his circle of life.


Jeroen makes his work to voice his critical views on society.

Retrospective

Retrospective is an overview exhibition of 9 collaborations between fashion designer Catta Donkersloot and photographer Lisa Kortenhorst.

Fashion designer Catta Donkersloot (1980) and photographer Lisa Kortenhorst (1980) worked together for the first time in July 2004. Lisa just graduated with honours from the Photo Academy Amsterdam and Catta just graduated with her collection ‘Thoughts on death’ at Amfi, Amsterdam fashion institute. Catta was looking for a photographer to photograph her collection and was introduced to Lisa.

During the shoot of ‘Thoughts on death’ they both felt a chemistry while working together and a special collaboration was born. Although they differ from style, throughout the years they discovered common ground between their disciplines, both of them always searching for a graphical balance and sharing a love for detail. Both believe that their own discipline is enriched by the other. Over the years Catta & Lisa worked together on various projects, always finding new ways to make a fusion between their discipline and their unconventional way of presentation.

Retrospective shows the highlights of 9 projects and exhibits photographs and clothing. Next to the exhibition special photographs, clothing and accessories will be sold.

Catta Donkersloot

Designer Catta Donkersloot started her own label in 2006 after obtaining her master degree at the ArtEZ Fashion Institute Arnhem (FIA). This graduation collection was awarded with a Mittelmode award in Italy. Her debut collection was presented in January 2007 in collaboration with photographer Lisa Kortenhorst. In 2008 Catta was rewarded with the international IAF award for most creative design. In November 2008 Catta opened her own shop in Amsterdam where she sells Catta Donkersloot, Catta Donkersloot ready-to-wear and her new commercial label Imoto-chan. Catta showcased her work in Italy, Belarus, Paris, New Zealand and Hong Kong.

Lisa Kortenhorst

Photographer Lisa Kortenhorst graduated with honours in 2004 from the Photo Academy Amsterdam. Since her graduation Lisa has worked as a freelance photographer around the world. In 2008 she was awarded silver at the London Photographic Association. In May 2009 she opened her gallery: the T room in Berlin. Her work has been exhibited in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Portugal and Jordan.

Genau Worgitzkis subtile Zeichnungen zu studieren, bedeutet unseren dahinströmenden Lebensaugenblicken die Chance zu verleihen, die sie in sich tragen, nämlich aufzuwachen in der Sinnenhaftigkeit der sich jeweils präsentierenden Ort-Zeit-Situation.

Dreams Of Creatures & Crumpets

Artist, Christopher Logan, seems to have delved into a British-inspired, fabled, character world.
A bit surreal in subject matter, animal features & mildly provocative forms have been meshed together on canvas. The result of these oil and collage compositions gives both a whimsical and an enchanting feel to his recent body of work.
True to the name of the show, Logan delivers characters who seem to possess aspects of English demeanor, while continually exploring an added dimension of strangeness. One can’t help but conceive that there’s a unique tale behind every illustrative scenario.
